Just like the name says, we wanted to create the ideal simple emergency rain jacket. We made it completely waterproof and compact, and, as you’d expect from Castelli, we also gave it an amazing on-bike fit, yet it’s still roomy enough to fit over a Gabba. It has all the trappings of a performance rain jacket, with the waterproof zipper, long tail, long sleeves, and wrist closures that can go over gloves, yet we knew you wouldn’t want to break the bank with it, so the only real compromise compared to our top-of-the-line offerings is in breathability. We kept the styling toned down and added a bright colorway in Brilliant Pink so that you can easily use this as a commute jacket and still look great when you get to the office. Typically, our women's garments are designed from the ground up for women. However, the Free Aero 4 W Bibshort is designed from the ground up for racing. That specific goal leads us to a somewhat minimalist construction, but one that is made for aerodynamics and also comfort, since racing requires long hours in the saddle, both in training and on race day, resulting in one of our most comfortable shorts as well. Meticulous Evolution The Free Aero Race 4 Bibshort is our top race short, which also means that it's insanely comfortable even if you never pin on a number. PROSECCO TECH SHORT SLEEVE The first goal of this base layer is to move moisture away from your skin while adding minimal insulation for those cool days when your riding intensity is high enough and your outer layers are warm enough. The areas covered by the bibtight around the waist and up the back can get hot, so we used a lightweight PrimaLoft fabric to help even out the temperature. This base layer works best when in contact with the skin, so both fabrics are very stretchy and the cut is slim. The name of this tight, Sorpasso, means "overtaking" in Italian. That's what we've tried to do with this tight, to make it a bit faster, better, more comfortable. It's made to be technical equipment for riding in the widest range of winter conditions. The main part of the tight uses our Nano Flex 3G fabric, the third generation of our nanotechnology fabric treatment that adds a high level of water repellency without affecting the breathability, stretch or warmth of the fabric. Our Sorpasso tight is our workhorse performance tight for the cyclist who rides seriously right through the winter months. With the Sorpasso Wind we add a GORE-TEX INFINIUM WINDSTOPPER fleece-backed panel covering your most sensitive parts as well as your thigh muscles to keep them at ideal operating temperature. The creation of this product started with a list of the things we wanted to fix about winter gloves: we wanted to make a glove that's warm without being bulky, is easy to get on and off, is mostly waterproof without having it suck in dry weather due to low breathability, and is super comfortable. We innovated everything on this glove, starting with the base fabrics: we've used a stretch water-resistant windproof outer shell over PrimaLoft Gold insulation to make it warm, and an insanely soft inner liner that happens to slide easily over even a sweaty hand for easy on/off. Just like the name says, we wanted to create the ideal simple emergency rain jacket.
